The operating log contains a series of meter readings indicating usage of a piece of equipment. The meter readings may be of different types, and different pieces of equipment may use different units of measure.

  1. Choose Transactions > Equipment > Equipment Operating Logs.
  2. Complete the following fields, as necessary.
    • Operating Log No.: This number defaults from setup. See Setting up equipment.
    • Equipment ID: Enter the equipment ID.
    • Original Doc. Number: Enter the document number from which the reading was taken.
    • Original Doc. Type: Enter the document type from which the reading was taken.
    • Reading Date: You can change the default.
    • Reading Type: Choose a type from the drop-down.
    • Reading By: Enter the name of the person taking the reading.
    • Reading: Enter the reading in the units of measure specified. This updates the Life Unit of Measure field on the Details tab of the Equipment Manager.
    • Photos: Choose this button if you want to record photos relevant to this meter reading in the Operating Log Photos Maintenance window. Use the folder button to add photos and the camera button to view them. The attached photos display on the Photos tab.
  3. Choose Save.

The new operating log reading will appear in the Usage Life to Date field in the Equipment Manager window. The Op Log document will also be listed on the Op Log tab of the Equipment Manager.
In addition to recording an operating log reading from the Operating Log Maintenance window, operating log readings can be generated from the Scheduled Maintenance module.
