Job categories describe and classify different kinds of jobs. Categories are used to direct costs to general ledger accounts and for reporting.

  1. Choose Microsoft Dynamics GP > Tools > Setup > Equipment > Transport > Job Categories.
  2. Enter a Job Category ID and Description.
  3. Choose a general ledger account for Transport Costs. This is the account for cost of sale.
  4. Choose a general ledger account for Internal Charges. This is the account for the inventory posting.
  5. Choose Save.
