Enabling Multi-Factor Authentication for Resco Cloud (On-Prem)
To enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for Resco Cloud (on-prem), you will need to connect your Resco Cloud to a custom Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), please follow the steps available at https://docs.resco.net/wiki/Connect_Resco_Cloud_to_custom_ADFS. Enabling MFA is an optional setup and is not required.
The App Password that is set up by the technician in the Resco Mobile App (MobileTech) for MFA is separate from the technician's user password. Technicians will need to keep the App Password in a safe location because this password cannot be recovered.
Setting Up an App Password With Google
If your company uses Gmail with 2-Factor Authentication for SMTP, you can set up an App Password through Google.
Each user will need to set this up for their account:
Sign in to your Google Account.
Click Security.
Under Signing in to Google, click App Passwords. You may need to sign in. If you don't have this option, it might be because:
2-Step Verification is not set up for your account.
2-Step Verification is only set up for security keys.
Your account is through work, school, or other organization.
You turned on Advanced Protection.
Click Select app and choose the app.
Click Select device and pick the device you're using.
Click Generate.
Follow the instructions to enter the app password. The app password is the 16-character code in the yellow bar on your device.
Tap Done.
Tip: Most of the time, you'll only have to enter an app password once per app or device, so don't worry about memorizing it.
