BOB 1.0.0 - 06/01/20

Overview

Building Optimization Broker version 1.0.0beta introduces Scoring and Reporting (finally) to the Building Optimization Broker!

Scoring provides a way for end consumers to understand, at a glance, how their portfolio is operating.

Reporting provides in-depth insights using historical data. Reporting is generated as a byproduct of using the system and requires no additional configuration to use.

Scoring is disabled by default but has been enabled for all Beta Companies. All other Companies will need to enable Scoring. Once Scoring is enabled, the Rules will start generating Scoring data within Reporting. Please give it a couple of hours to begin populating your Reports.

Note: As of 0.10.0beta existing BAS Agents (Version 1.0.1) will continue to work, but will not accept changes to the network configuration. If you have not been updated to BAS Agent 1.0.14 or later please contact support@wennsoft.com for information on getting your BAS Agents updated.

This version was formally released on 6/1/2020 to our beta customers.

Reporting

Features and Improvements

  • There is a new application, Reporting, available in the app drawer.

  • Within the Reporting application there are three WennSoft Reports: Site, Equipment and System.

  • For more in-depth documentation, please see our help documentation.

Site Report

The Site Report gives you a high level overview of your entire Service Portfolio.

Within the Site Report you can:

  • View Faults that have occurred within any of your Sites.

  • View Affected Areas within any of your Sites.

  • Drill down further to view specific information about your Sites: Which Equipment or Systems were in Fault? How many occurrences did I have? For how long did they occur? What Priority were they? What Issue Type were they?

  • Filter based on normalized entities: Business Type, Building Type, Equipment Type or System Type.

  • Filter based on discrete entities: Client, Campus, Site, Equipment or System.

  • Filter based on Issue Type: Comfort, Controls, Energy, Health and Safety, Maintenance and Mechanical.

  • Select Time Ranges to understand portfolio performance over time.

Equipment Report

The Equipment Report provides you with an overview of your entire Service Portfolio, but unlike the Site Report, it is primarily Equipment focused. From this report, you can quickly filter and identify where to spend time either remotely or when on-site.

Within the Equipment Report you can:

  • View all of the Equipment for all of your Sites as well as the average score of the time period selected.

  • View the Top Ten Best and Top Ten Worst performing Equipment.

  • View the average score for each Equipment Type across your portfolio.

  • Filter based on normalized entities: Business Type, Building Type or Equipment Type.

  • Filter based on discrete entities: Client, Campus or Site.

  • Select Time Ranges to understand Equipment performance over time.

  • Drill-down further to gain insight for individual Equipment.

Equipment Report Drill Down

The Equipment Drill Down is a sub-report which allows you to see fine-grained details of a single Equipment's performance.

In the Equipment Drill Down you can:

  •

    • View Faults for your Equipment over time.

    • View Equipment Score over time.

    • Select Time Ranges to understand Equipment performance over time.

System Report

The System Report is very similar to the Equipment Report, but is primarily System focused. From this report, you can quickly filter and identify where to spend time either remotely or when on-site.

Within the System Report you can:

  • View all of the Systems for all of your Sites as well as the average score of the time period selected.

  • View the Top Ten Best and Top Ten Worst performing Systems.

  • View the average score for each System Type across your portfolio.

  • Filter based on normalized entities: Business Type, Building Type or System Type.

  • Filter based on discrete entities: Client, Campus or Site.

  • Select Time Ranges to understand System performance over time.

  • Drill-down further to gain insight for individual System.

System Report Drill Down

The System Report Drill Down is a sub-report which allows you to see fine-grained details of a single System's performance.

In the System Report Drill Down you can:

  •

    • View Faults for your System over time.

    • View Faults for any of the Equipment associated with the System over time.

    • View System Score over time.

    • Select Time Ranges to understand System performance over time.

Admin

Features and Improvements

  • With the release of Scoring, there is a new card available in Admin called "Scoring". You must enable Scoring for your Company before it is available in Reporting.

  • There is a debug view, similar to the Rule Debugger which will display any Scoring failures that may occur.

  • Scoring is a byproduct of the Rules built in Rule Builder and will calculate automatically as the system runs.

  • Scores are stored historically and are available within the Reporting application.

  • For more information on Scoring, please see our help.

When first enabling Scoring, each subsequent Rule engine execution will produce a Score. If you'd like to produce Scores for previously stored data, you will need to Recalculate your Rules in Rule Builder. Please see help docs for more information: Recalculate a Rule

Known Issues

  • When creating BACnet Profile Objects manually (not using the BAS Inventory), you are unable to switch the data type which can cause a problem with Binary Inputs/Outputs/Variables that may be outputing Boolean data instead of Integer.
Workaround: Right now there is no work-around, we are planning to update this workflow to allow the User to switch the data type when manually creating Profile Objects.
